Osteria da Canemorto
Solo exhibition, 2019
San Biagio, Orsenigo (Italy)
Osteria da Canemorto is the second installment of an ongoing series of gastronomic performative exhibitions by CANEMORTO.  In this one night only project, the trio took over San Biagio restaurant in Orsenigo, subverting  all the characteristic elements of typical popular taverns from northern Italy’s Lombardia region.

CANEMORTO created a special menu in collaboration with the chef, invited the local punk rock band Animal Boy to play regional folk songs, designed the restaurant placemats, exhibited a series of paintings inspired by the ones typically displayed in this kind of taverns and organized a final “tombola” raffle game for all diners.

Wine at will included in the menu made sure that things got out of control pretty quickly; as a matter of fact, the photographer’s camera ended up in the nearby river; for this reason all you can see here is a series of regrettable frames from the video shoot by Matteo Berardone.
