In this duo exhibition, CANEMORTO paid tribute to one of their idols: Italian outsider artist Carlo Zinelli, who spent most of his life in a psychiatric hospital, drawing for eight hours a day.
The trio adopted Carlo’s technique (strictly tempera and ink on paper), his subjects, and his obsessive, repetitive approach, creating a body of 300 drawings. These works covered the gallery’s four walls, engaging in an intense dialogue with three of Carlo’s double-sided pieces exhibited in the centre of the room.
